About this site

What it is

A lookup for the 2026 Basic Allowance for Housing, by duty station, pay grade and dependency status. It exists because the official rate tables are published as spreadsheets and PDFs, and because most of the sites that reformat them make you pick through one enormous table to find a single row.

Every combination has its own page and its own address, so the answer to “what does an E-5 with dependents draw at Fort Bragg” is a link you can send someone rather than a set of instructions for driving a form.

Where the numbers come from

Rates are published by the DoD Defense Travel Management Office and take effect 01 JAN 2026. They are reproduced here without adjustment. This build carries 17 Military Housing Areas; the full published file covers more than 300, and the remainder are being added.

Rates change every 1 January. When they do, this site is updated from the newly published file rather than left to go stale.

What it is not

It is not an official Department of Defense resource and has no affiliation with the Department of Defense, any branch of the armed services, or any government agency. Your Leave and Earnings Statement and your servicing finance office are authoritative; where this site and your LES disagree, your LES is right.

It covers CONUS BAH only. Overseas housing runs on a different system (OHA) with different rules, and guessing from a BAH table would give you a wrong number.

How it is paid for

Advertising. Ads are placed below the answer rather than in front of it, there is no account to create, no email is collected, and no part of the rate data sits behind a form. If that ever stops being true, it will be because the site changed hands.
